A Message from the Director of Religious Education

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to each of you as you investigate the many wonderful possibilities that can be found within our Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalists R.E. program. Whether you are here for your child, your teen, or yourself, we are dedicated to ensuring that your experiences are part of an ever developing spiritual identity and personal truth. Here at Cedarhurst, we offer many choices for everyone with a hope for faith development within a respectful and supportive community. But….do not come simply to learn from others, come to learn and grow together…. for the spiritual journey is one of mutual lessons and shared wisdom.

There is much to be said about the many heart-felt efforts of our wonderful volunteers, who help to ensure the quality of our R.E. program. Each person plays a vital role in bringing life to the heart of spiritual education. None of this would be possible without their commitments, their energy, and their community spirit. This is my moment to tell each of our volunteers how important they are. It is also a time to encourage those of you interested in bringing your own talents to our program to contact myself or a council member. Whether it is a small, one time, effort or a large classroom teaching commitment, all of it counts. Bring your many abilities and your enthusiasm, and see what rewards can be found in the sharing of the self.
Please see the links to the left to download the RE Program brochure and the student registration form. You may also obtain copies when visiting our classrooms. The registration of all children and youth enables us to have accurate contact information in the event of an emergency. Registration also helps us to understand any health concerns, special needs, or exceptional abilities of our students. Please also consider how you can help the program continue to be successful. It is through our mutual efforts that we make a difference in the lives of others.

All completed forms may be submitted to me, or to an R. E. Council Member who will see that each form makes it safely to my mailbox.

Namaste’ and Gentle Blessings,
Jennifer A. Harvilak
